The Canvas is a versatile tool designed to help users create, customize, and interact with visual data representations. It provides a dynamic workspace where users can draw and organize elements like nodes, legends, lines, and labels to visualize complex data structures or designs. This widget is ideal for tasks that require high levels of customization and visual clarity, such as system modeling or process planning.

Key Features:

  • Blank Canvas: Start from scratch and design a completely new visual representation.
  • Copy Canvas: Duplicate an existing canvas to use as a base for modifications.
  • Rich Library: Access a library of shapes and symbols, including ISO standards like ISO3511 and ISO1219, to build accurate and informative diagrams.
  • Real-Time Customization: Modify, interact, and manipulate data visually on the dashboard.

Step-by-Step Guide to Set Up the Canvas Widget

  1. Navigate to Dashboards.
  2. Click on the pencil icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Click on the Add Widget icon.
  4. Select Canvas and click Next.
  5. Choose one of the following options:
    • Blank Canvas: Start from scratch to create a new canvas.
    • Copy Canvas: Select an existing canvas from the dropdown menu to use as a base.
  6. Enter the following details:
    • Widget Name: Enter a name for the widget (e.g., "IoT System Layout").
    • Canvas Name: Enter a name for the canvas (e.g., "Main Floor Plan").
  7. Click Design to open the canvas editor.
  8. Customize your canvas:
    • Use the Library panel to add nodes, labels, paths, and legends.
    • Adjust properties such as sizes, connections, and colors to match your needs.
    • Drag and drop ISO-standard elements for industry-specific visualizations.
  9. Save your changes and click Submit.
  10. Click Save to apply the Canvas Widget to your dashboard.

Your Canvas is now configured and ready to help you visualize and interact with your data dynamically.
