Subscription access level

This section describes operations that a *Subscription access level * user can perform with Data sets.

What are datasets in Facts?

Datasets in Facts are structured collections of data that have been prepared and formatted for easy use in reporting and visualization tasks. These datasets are constructed based on standardized templates that are established at the platform level, ensuring consistency and reliability. Users can generate new datasets by utilizing these predefined templates, which simplifies the process of dataset creation and ensures integration with the platform's overall architecture. Once created, these datasets are readily accessible within a user's specific subscription, enabling a streamlined approach to viewing and handling data. This framework not only facilitates the efficiency and effectiveness of reporting and visualization but also maintains data integrity across the board.

Key Features

  • Flexible Data Management: Create and customize datasets for a wide range of use cases, such as tracking incidents, scheduling tasks, or managing operational metrics.
  • CSV Import: Populate datasets quickly by uploading CSV files with predefined headers.
  • Predefined Templates: Build datasets based on templates defined at the platform level, ensuring consistency and reliability.
  • Visualization-Ready: Datasets are designed for easy reporting and visualization within PA Facts.

Use Cases

  • Incident Reporting: Log and track incidents, including details like timestamps, severity levels, and status updates.
  • Operational Metrics: Manage and monitor key performance indicators for your organization.
  • Task Scheduling: Organize and track tasks with ease, ensuring streamlined workflows.

Step-by-Step Guide to Using Data Sets

    • Description: Add a brief description of the dataset.
    • Model: Select the appropriate model for your dataset from the dropdown.
  4. Click Confirm to create the dataset.

Adding Entries to a Data Set

  1. Select the dataset from the list to view its details.
  2. Add a Record:
    • Click the blue + icon in the dataset’s data view.
    • Fill out the required fields for the new record, such as:
      • DateReported and DateChecked: Enter the relevant dates.
      • Notes: Add any additional details.
      • StringProperty: Include textual data relevant to the record.
      • Events: Select an event type (e.g., Good, Neutral).
  3. Click Submit to save the record in the dataset.

Importing Data via CSV

  1. Use the export feature to download a CSV template for the dataset.
  2. Fill out the CSV file with your data, ensuring the headers match the dataset’s structure.
  3. Use the upload feature to import the populated CSV file. The data will be automatically added to the dataset.

Viewing and Editing Dataset Details

  1. Select the Overview tab within the dataset to view its details, including:

    • Model
    • Display Name
    • Description
