Twins

Subscription access level

This section describes all operations that a Subscription access level user can perform with Twins.

What is the Twins Feature in Facts?

The "Twins" feature in FACTS enables users to digitally represent and monitor their physical assets, devices, or systems. Each twin acts as a virtual counterpart of a real-world entity, providing real-time data, telemetry, properties, and relationships. This feature enhances the ability to analyze and interact with assets, improving decision-making and operational efficiency.

Users can access critical information such as the twin’s telemetry data, configure relationships, and map data inputs to capabilities. Additionally, the Twins feature supports creating relationships and mappings between twins to form a connected network of virtual entities.

What can you do in the Twins Feature?

  1. View Overview: Access the basic details of each twin, including its name, model, and associated data.
  2. View Capabilities: Explore the telemetry, properties, and functionalities associated with a twin.
  3. Access Telemetry Data: View real-time and historical data streams from the twin’s sensors and devices.
  4. View Twin Properties: Inspect specific properties associated with a twin, such as configurations or static metadata.
  5. Create Relationships: Establish relationships between twins to define connections or dependencies.
  6. Perform Data Mapping: Map incoming data to specific twin capabilities for streamlined data integration.
  7. Create Twins: Add new digital twins to the system.

Procedures

Creating Twins

  1. Navigate to the Twins section.
  2. Click the + button in the top right corner to create a new twin.
  3. Enter the following details:
    • Name: Provide a unique name for the twin.
    • Model: Select the appropriate model for the twin.
    • Start Timestamp: Specify when the twin becomes active.
    • End Timestamp: (Optional) Define when the twin becomes inactive.
  4. Click Submit to create the twin.
