Operations with Data Sources

This section describes all operations that a Tenant user can perform with Data sources.

Set up a Data source

Set up a Data source

  1. Click the hamburger menu in the top-left corner.
  2. Select MDI > Data Sources.
  3. Click Create New Data Source.
  4. Enter the data source name into the Data source name field.
  5. Enter the display name for the first schema parameter into the Display name field.
  6. Enter the field name into the Field name field.
  7. Select the type for the field from the Field type menu. Available types are text, number, date, and date time.
  8. Click Add Column.
  9. Repeat for any other required parameters.
  10. Click Save. The new data source will appear in the Data Sources list.

Copy a Data source

  1. Click the hamburger menu in the top-left corner.
  2. Select MDI > Data Sources.
  3. Click Actions next to the data source that you want to copy.
  4. Click Copy.
  5. Enter the name of the copy into the Data source name field.
  6. Click Copy. The new data source will appear in the Data Sources list.

Edit a Data source

Edit a Data source

  1. Click the hamburger menu in the top-left corner.
  2. Select MDI > Data Sources.
  3. Click Actions next to the data source that you want to edit.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Enter the new name of the data source in the Data source name field.
  6. Enter the display name for the first schema parameter into the Display name field.
  7. Enter the field name in the Field name field.
  8. Select the type for the field from the Field type menu. Available types are text, number, date, and date time.
  9. Click Save.

  1. Click the hamburger menu in the top-left corner.
  2. Select MDI > Data Sources.
  3. Click Actions next to the data source that you want to delete.
  4. Click Delete.
  5. Confirm deletion.

Populate a Data source manually

  1. Click the hamburger menu in the top-left corner.
  2. Select MDI > Data Sources.
  3. Click Actions next to the data source that you want to populate.
  4. Click Go to.
  5. Click the + icon.
  6. Enter the value of the data parameter.
  7. Click Save.

Populate a Data source using Excel import

  1. Click the hamburger menu in the top-left corner.
  2. Select MDI > Data Sources.
  3. Click Actions next to the data source that you want to populate.
  4. Click Go to.
  5. Click Import.
  6. Select the Excel sheet and confirm selection. Please note that the fields in your Excel sheet must match the schema of the data source.
  7. Click Save.

Export data from a Data source

  1. Click the hamburger menu in the top-left corner.
  2. Select MDI > Data Sources.
  3. Click Actions next to the data source that you want to export.
  4. Click Go to.
  5. Click Export.

Delete a Data source entry

  1. Click the hamburger menu in the top-left corner.
  2. Select MDI > Data Sources.
  3. Click Actions next to the data source that you want to populate.
  4. Click Go to.
  5. Click Actions next to the data source entry that you want to delete..
  6. Click Delete.
  7. Confirm deletion.
