This section describes all operations that a Subscription access level user can perform with Caluclations (Metrics).

What are metrics in Inimco.facts?

Metrics serve as a tool to aggregate data at the organizational level. A metric, once created for an organization, is applicable to all its organizational units. Currently, there are three types of metrics:

• Metric Input Tree: This allows the selection of data sources. For example, you can indicate that a machine consumes energy, which is measured by a meter. By assigning the meter as a data source, its data is included in the aggregation process.
• Metric Calculation: This enables various calculations using Excel-like formulas on metrics. It allows for operations such as adding two metrics together, multiplying them, or multiplying a metric by a fixed factor.

What can we do with the metrics in Inimco.facts?

• Create, Edit, and Delete Metric Calculations: This includes setting up new metrics, modifying existing ones, and removing outdated metrics. These metrics can range from simple data aggregations to complex, weighted distributions and custom calculations based on specific formulas.

• Manage Data Analysis and Reporting: The platform allows for the organization and analysis of data across various organizational units. This facilitates informed decision-making through detailed insights into operational performance.

• Customize Data Handling According to Organizational Needs: Organizations can tailor how data is collected, aggregated, and distributed, ensuring that the analysis aligns with their specific requirements and goals.

Procedures

Create Metric Input Calculation

1. Log in to Inimco Facts. This will direct you to the Home screen.
2. Navigate to the Calculations section.
3. Click on the Metrics tab.
4. Click the + symbol to add a new metric input calculation.
5. Select Metric Input and click NEXT.
6. Provide a name for the calculation in the Name field.
7. Enter a description in the Description field.
8. Select the relevant organization from the Organisation dropdown menu.
9. Input the unit of measurement in the Unit of Measurement field.
10. Choose the aggregation type from the Aggregation type dropdown menu.
11. Click Create to finalize the metric input calculation.

Create Metric Weighted Distribution Calculation

Prerequisite: A metric must be pre-created.

1. Log in to Inimco Facts. This will direct you to the Home screen.
2. Navigate to the Calculations section.
3. Click on the Metrics tab.
4. Click the + symbol to initiate a new calculation.
5. Select Metric Weighted Distribution and click NEXT.
6. Give a name in the Name field.
7. Provide a description in the Description field.
8. Select a metric from the Metric dropdown menu.
9. Choose a device from the Device dropdown menu.
10. Select a capability from the Capability dropdown menu.
11. Enter the unit of measurement in the Unit of Measurement field.
12. Click Create to finalize the metric weighted distribution calculation.

Create Metric Calculation

Prerequisite: A metric must be pre-created.

1. Log in to Inimco Facts. This will direct you to the Home screen.
2. Navigate to the Calculations section.
3. Click on the Metrics tab.
4. Click the + symbol to start a new metric calculation.
5. Select Metric Calculation and click NEXT.
6. Enter a name in the Name field.
7. Add a description in the Description field.
8. Choose the appropriate organization from the Organisation dropdown.
9. Input the unit of measurement in the Unit of Measurement field.
10. Enter the calculation formula in the Calculation field. For example: =M1+M2, where M1 and M2 are metric names.
11. Click Add metric, then select the metric from the Metric dropdown.
12. Click Create to complete the metric calculation setup.

Edit Metric Input

1. Log in to Inimco Facts. This will direct you to the Home screen.
2. Navigate to the Calculations section.
3. Click on the Metrics tab.
4. Select the metric input you want to edit.
5. Click the ellipsis (...) and select Edit.
6. Click the pencil icon to modify.
7. If necessary, select a new aggregation method from the dropdown.
8. Click the ellipsis (...) on the widget and choose Edit.
9. To add a device, click ADD DEVICE and select the required device and capability.
10. To remove a device, click SUBTRACT DEVICE and select the device and capability to remove.

Edit a Rule or a Metric

1. Log in to Inimco Facts. This will direct you to the Home screen.
2. Navigate to the Calculations section.
3. Click the Real-time tab or the Metrics tab, depending on the type of rule you need to edit.
4. Click the ellipsis (...) in the row of the rule you want to amend.
5. Click Edit rule.
6. Amend the rule as required.
7. Click UPDATE RULE.

Delete a Rule or a Metric

1. Log in to Inimco Facts. This will direct you to the Home screen.
2. Navigate to the Calculations section.
3. Click the Real-time tab or the Metrics tab, depending on the type of rule you need to edit.
4. Click the ellipsis (...) in the row of the rule you want to delete.
5. Click Delete rule.
6. Confirm deletion.
